Alpaca rugs

Our new alpaca rugs have arrived.  We have always used Ingrid's Handwoven Rugs in Paint Rock, Texas to process a portion of our alpaca fiber into rugs.

Most of the rugs are 2' x 3', though we have ordered a custom rug that was much larger for a friend.  We think that there is nothing better than these rugs for softness and durability.

Our new rugs just arrived from the mill in Texas, Ingrid's Handwoven Rugs.  We are really excited to have our latest batch.  In addition to several smaller rugs (around 2' by 3'), we did a custom ordered 6' by 8' rug for a family friend.  We had never ordered a rug that large and are really happy with the results.  (She seems to be, too!)

This batch is all in brown tones with few flecks of black scattered throughout.  We also have a small number of rugs in various other designs from earlier orders.

These make great gifts!  I tell everyone that there is no better feeling than waking up and setting your feet on one of these rugs - super soft and durable.

New arrival - handwoven rugs!

We are really excited to have our first shipment of handwoven rugs from our alpaca fiber. Ingrid's Handwoven Rugs in Paint Rock, Texas created these beautiful 2x4' and 3x5' rugs. We selected one for in front of our desk in the living room - it is so soft and warm!

The rugs are woven from the "seconds" or fiber from the neck and legs of the alpacas. This fiber is less desirable because it is typically shorter when compared to the fiber on the body of the animal that makes up the blanket.
